Mind Your Money

A rich new way to play memory—where Benjamins are worth a lot more!

Quick Facts:

2 -6 Players

5 minutes per round

Easy Difficulty

Objective: Collect the most cash by pairing up as many bills as you can.

Shuffle the deck and place each card face down on the table.  Whether they are in neat rows or in a big sprawling mess is up to you.

2. How to Play

  • This is like the memory or concentration game we learned as kids with the big difference that the winner is determined by how much cash they collect, not how many pairs.

  • Decide who goes first and then play moves clockwise.

  • On your turn, flip over two cards and make sure all the other players can see them. If they match, keep them and put them in your bank and you get to go again.  If they don’t match, flip them both back over and the next player goes.

  • Continue until all the pairs are taken and there are no cards left on the board.

3. Scoring

Each player counts the money in their bank.  This is the amount of cash they earned that round. We

recommend a pen and paper to keep a tally of scores and play to a pre-agreed amount of money.  $3,000 to become champion is common but pick any money goal that you wish.

4. Variations

  1. Want a smaller board and quicker round?  Start with a smaller deck.  For example, you can cut the deck in half by removing 4 cards of each denomination.  Or perhaps you remove all the $1s before playing.  Do it any way you like, just make sure to do it in even pairs.

  2. Want a bigger challenge? Instead of getting pairs of each bill. On each player’s turn flip over 4 cash cards, and you can only bank them if all 4 are the same.
